Best places to Cycle in Canada

In Manitoba there are both paved and dirt trails. For a steep ride try Bald Hill and Packhorse trails in Riding Mountain National Park. In summer, The Grand Beach Provincial Park cross-country ski trails (featuring foresterd hills and sandy soil) are used by cyclists. Cycling Manitoba has an extensive list of cycling trails.

One of the most popular cycling rides in Whistler is Valley Trail, 30 kilometres of paved pedestrian/bicycle path that links parks, beaches, neighbourhoods, and Whistler Village. More challenging trails – including the world-famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park - are found all around Whistler

With a network of over 370 km (230 miles) of bike paths, the Outaouais region of Quebec is renowned for its availabling cycling options and activities.

Best places to Paddle in Canada

When it comes to canoeing and kayaking, Canada offers a wide range of scenic waterways including numerous lakes, rivers and along sea coasts.

In Quebec, The Laurentians offers about a dozen rivers perfect for paddling including those that snake through the stunning Tremblant National Park.

Mont Tremblant Considered the top ski resort in eastern North American Mont Tremblant offers more than just downhill and snowboarding. There's a lot here for Nordic skiiers. A network of 65 km (about 11 miles) of trails stretches around the Mont Tremblant resort and the city of Mont Tremblant. You don't need to lug your own skies, there are a number of places to rent what you need.

Pause-Plein-Air Located on Le P'tit Train du Nord Linear Park in The Laurentians Pause Plein Air offers dedicated trails.

The Outaouais Region of Quebec boasts over 400 km (240 miles)of cross-country trails. Check out the region's brand new cross-country skiing and snowshoeing brochure. (Just click on English to get to the English version.)

In Manitoba Riding Mountain National Park offers 280 kms of winter trails from easy to difficult. There are also wonderful trails in Lake of the Prairies, Brandon Hills, Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Grand Beach Provincial Park, Pinawa, Whiteshell Provincial Park, Beaudry Park and Snow Valley. Cross Country Ski Association of Manitoba

Callaghan Country British Columbia (nearest town is Whistler). This is the future site of the Whistler Nordic Centre where all the nordic ski events for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games will take place.

Whistler offers cross-country enthusiasts 32 km (about 20 miles) of trails including those around Lost Lake lit for night skiing.
