Encore Wynn Las Vegas

It opened December 22 and there is no doubt in this writer's mind that Encore Wynn Resort Las Vegas is destined to be one of the new stars on The Strip. Beautiful, elegant, theatrical and surprisingly intimate for a 2,000 plus room property. Think boutique hotel on a grand scale.

Along with about 200 other journalists from various parts of the world, I'm here for Media Week. Here are a few images just snapped.....

Read about the Spa at Encore Las Vegas

Encore Wynn Resort, Esplanade

Encore Esplanade lined with shops is the corridor that links sister properties Wynn Resort and Encore Wynn.

Encore Wynn Resort, Gym

If a gym can be elegant then certainly this is it. If you're not having a spa treatment, it's $40 a day to use the facilities which include two studios with scheduled yoga, Pilates and spinning classes.

Encore Wynn Resort, Spa Floor Lounge

This looks more like a parlor in a European palace than the lounge for spa and salon guests. If this is just the lounge, can't wait to see the spa.

Encore Wynn Resort, Juice Bar

The gym also has a juice bar with fruit and veggie drinks, shots of wheat grass and a good selection of energy bars.

Wazuzu Restaurant, Encore Wynn, Las Vegas

In Wazuzu, one of five upscale restaurants, an 8.2 metre Swarovski crystal dragon crawls across a tangerine-coloured wall as patrons dine on Asian-inspired dishes.

Another restaurant, aptly called Switch, gives new meaning to the concept of “dinner theatre.” If you’re waiting for your appetizer and suddenly walls start to move - no, you haven’t had too many Mohitos.

Here, it is the decor, music and lighting that “perform” every 20 minutes.

The very handsome Sinatra – a fine-dining room christened with the blessings of the Sinatra family and not so much whimsical but nostalgic and romantic - is another signature restaurant.
