PEDICURE AT THE FOUR SEASONS, WHISTLER, B.C.

Remember Ryan, the young man who experienced a the pedicure from hell. We wrote about him in another issue of Travel to Wellness. When I mentioned his experience to Marie Kury, spa director of the Spa at the Four Seasons Whistler. She said, “send him over.” So we did.

Ryan found the experience at the luxurious Four Season's spa, a whole lot different then his "first time" spa experience.


Located in the Upper Village, the Spa at the Four Season, with 15 treatment rooms, is one of the largest of the 20 plus spas in this icon winter resort and wellness destination. It also has one very nice pool area.

Due to his bad experience with his first pedicure Ryan was understandable a little nervous about this visit but we talked him into it and the staff at the Four Seasons spa made him feel comfortable.

He was welcomed to the spa, escorted to the men’s locker room where he was asked to shed his hiking clothes for slippers and a luxurious cashmere robe. He then waited for his therapist in the relaxation room before being ushered into a private treatment room for the Men's Pedicure.

“It was great,”he said following the treatment. "I liked the privacy, there was no pain involved and I especially liked the foot massage.” Would he have another pedicure? “If it was like this one,” he said, “definitely.”

In addition to the pedicure, the spa offers a number of treatments popular with men including the Golfer's Massage -
a customised massage concentrating on the shoulders, upper back, chest and hips, as well as the forearms and wrists. The 60 or 90 minute treatment, "relaxes muscles, relieves tension and a golfer's performance," says Kuri. The Fitness Facial for Men is a 60 minute treatment designed to help skin suffering from daily shaving, environmental conditions, sun damage and free radicals. Kuri tells us that using products especially created for men, the 60-minute treatment can even help prevent razor burn, sensitivity and ingrown hairs.
