TOESOX & GRIP GLOVES

When the five-toe, non-slip ToeSox and Grip Gloves arrived in the post, I took them right away to a yoga studio to test out.

I discovered that akin to other yoga props like bolster cushions, straps and blocks, ToeSox are a great aid for strengthening and improving your practice.

The grips on the soles of the socks and on the palms of the gloves keep you static and not sliding out of your poses.

I found both products to be especially useful during Downward Facing Dog or Adho Mukha Svanasana.

In this rejuvenating and calming pose, I often work to keep my hands and feet from slipping out beneath me. Counter productive to the intention! Both products did grip the yoga mat and the hardwood studio floor well resulting in a deeper and more focused pose.

The ToeSox and Grip Gloves take up very little space, are comfortable and available in a wide variety of colors including hot pink, the proceeds of which go to Poses for Paws supporting animal shelters.

Treat & Conceal, a new product from New York-based Miracle Skin could be part of the next generation of cosmetics because it’s multi-functional. Perfect for travelers who can now pack just ONE product instead of THREE.

The natural silicone based-product Hydrates with a plant derived collagen, Enhances with iron oxides minerals and Vitamin K that help conceal and diminish problem areas such as blemishes and broken capillaries, and Protects with Vitamin F containing Omega 3 & 6. If you consider that Treat and Conceal is for eyes as well as the face, it could be considered SIX products in one.

We tried it and it does conceal as promised leaving a smooth finish with a very soft shine. We also like the product because it’s free of fragrance, parabens and harsh chemicals, and not tested on animals. It comes in three shades and retails for $36 U.S. for 1.50 fl. oz. Toddy Smart Cloth

What’s post card size, comes in a palate of fashionable colours and prints and is a handy little accessory for the road? That would be the Toddy Smart Cloth from Toddy Gear in Chicago. What makes it so "smart" you ask?

Made from a durable plush, solid-coloured, microfiber cloth on one side and a patterned silk microfiber on the other, the Toddy Smart Cloth is designed to clean all travel gadgets and tech tools from eyewear, to laptops, digital cameras and smart phones. We tried it on a pair of sun glasses and an iPad screen and it works amazingly well. We thought it might be challenged by the tapping finger marks on the iPad screen but all dust and smudges were gone in a jiff. Impressive.

JUST IN CASE

Just is Case from Mini Kittour of California is the newest collection of refillable and leak-proof travel-sized containers to hit the market, and we think they’re going to be a big hit.

The main point of distinction with this quality line is that all the items come packaged and priced individually – most in the $5 - $10 range - allowing you to customize your own carry-on kit. There are spray, pump and squeeze bottles all in the approved size for airline carry-on; three, good quality and dual-ended cosmetic brushes; and a four-compartment box with snap lids for vitamins, mints or small items such as a pair of earrings. The line even includes a note pad and mini marker and a box of zip-seal bags in the airline approved size. Another thing we like: they are made from recyclable materials.
