Words to take along on the Journey

Wellness is also about "giving back" and if you're looking to combine travel with giving we suggest you check out the new Vacouver-based GoVoluntouring.com.  It lists projects and programs ranging from small non-profits to large organizations.

Pineapple Enzyme Exfoliating Mask

This is a quick and easy recipe that can be whipped up in a couple of minutes and can offer soothing relief and healing to dry skin and also to those with eczema.

Ingredients
½ cup raw rolled oats
2 tbsp fresh pineapple
½ tsp raw organic honey
½ tsp organic olive oil
2 – 4 drops of pure essential oil (optional) choose from lavender, mint, rose, chamomile or rosemary
½ tsp of chopped fresh mint leaves
1 tbsp of chamomile tea (room temperature and optional)

Place all ingredients into a food processor or blender and mix well (20 to 30 seconds)  If the mask is too thick to spread easily a little water or milk can be added to thin it out. Keeps in the fridge for up to 4 days.

For facial care - Apply to the skin with gentle massage strokes. Leave the mask on for up to 15 mintues, then rinse well with water and pat dry.

For body care -  Apply to areas of the body that are very dry or show signs of eczema. Apply with gentle massage strokes and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Wipe or rinse off.

**For any skin that is sensitive, allergic or acne prone a patch test is recommended before full application.  ~~~~~

With this newsletter we are back in Mexico coming to you live from San Miguel de Allende! It's been a busy month for travel. First, a trip to Southern California to visit Montage Spa at the Montage Resort Laguna Beach. Next, we attended the International Spa Conference (ISPA) in Las Vegas, and from there made our way down to Mexico stopping first in Leon (the country's shoe capital).  Now, how wonderful it is to be back here in the historic town of San Miguel de Allende! As I write this, the sun is casting a burnt umber glow on the town's main square, the church bells are ringing and from just outside my kitchen window, I hear the rhythmic clomping of horse hooves over the cobblestones.

For the next six months, this will be home base for Travel to Wellness. I'm also presenting a travel writing workshop at the San Miguel Writer's Conference.  If you are planning a visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to hear from you. You can also connect with us anytime on Twitter and FaceBook.
