Spas in Las Vegas
By Marisa Finetti
For the diehard spa-goer, one of the best things about visiting Las Vegas is that it has one of the highest concentrations of luxury resort spas in the world. While the Spa at Wynn is the newest, here are a few other Las Vegas Spas that have recently opened or re-opened with new looks.
Spa at Encore, Wynn Resort
Drift Spa & Hammam
Spa at Trump
Spa at the Mirage
Five other Vegas spas

DRIFT SPA AND HAMMAM, Palms Place Hotel and Spa
This two-level spa boasts 22 treatment rooms, a movement studio for Pilates and yoga, a fitness club with advanced cardio and weight building equipment and a salon operated by celebrity stylist Michael Boychuck.
Spa guests are also invited to indulge in Drift’s hot pool with underwater-jetted beds, as well as the cool dip pool with waterfalls and light features, and the refreshing outdoor garden rinse showers.
The spa offers couples’ suites, solitude suites, orient rooms, fun tubs and private relaxation areas or the option to soak in the desert sunshine in open-air cabanas. Curative treatments include the barefoot Ashiatu Massage, Hot Stone Massage, herbology, custom aromatherapy, and bio-energetic medicine.

Point of Distinction: The heart of Drift is a lavish hammam - an oversized co-ed steam bath offering the therapeutic powers of aromatic inhalation, ambient steam and heated stone slabs to cleanse and renew. For centuries the traditional Turkish hammam has been regarded as a place for healing, rejuvenating and socializing. Tiled throughout in rich earth tones, the hammam ceiling has a mesmerizing spiral design with sparkling lights to give a mystical illusion. There’s a convivial vibe here but for more of a private experience, try the heated thrones.
Signature Treatment: Drift Away is a full body treatment that begins with a brisk and exhilarating exfoliation, followed by a soothing wash, a relaxing basalt stone massage and an aloe wrap.
Best Thing About It: The hammam at Drift is a one-of-a-kind experience in Las Vegas.
What Could Be Improved: Overall, the ambiance is clean, but the spa sometimes feels slightly clinical.

SPA AT TRUMP, Trump International

Glistening crystal chandeliers and rich, golden highlights of the chic Trump International hotel lobby gives a taste of what the Spa at Trump, located just a few levels up, has to offer.
Reminiscent of a sophisticated high-rise apartment, the spa is a chic sanctuary with faux suede walls, chocolate and cream interiors, and sleek furnishings. The nine treatment rooms, a co-ed relaxation room, a Scandinavian sauna and a eucalyptus steam room make it a comfortable boutique (by Vegas standards) spa.
Guests are assigned to a spa attaché who offers total personal attention throughout the visit. Love the gummy bears available along with organic teas in the lounge.
Point of Distinction: Upon arrival, you’ll be asked to select a “personal intention.” Whether your intention is to calm, balance, purify, heal or revitalize, every treatment, down to the herbal teas available in the relaxation room, as well as the masks and lotions concocted at the “intention bar,” will be personalized to give you the most fulfilling, customized experience.
Signature Treatments: Four Gemstone Treatments offer serenity and healing through precious gem-infused oils combined with rare floral and herbal essences. Massage oils contain diamonds for purifying, emeralds for balancing, rubies for revitalizing, and sapphires for calming and healing. The Royal Lurlur Ritual takes a body back to 17th century Bali for a traditional full-body ritual, originally adminiseted to royal brides-to-be. It begins with a jasmine and frangipani-scented oil concentration that quenches your skin and awakens the senses. A mixture of turmeric, rice and other exotic spices is used to exfoliate the body. This is followed by a warm yogurt application, a rain-shower, then a fragrant bubble bath. After the hydrotherapy service, a jasmine and frangipani body lotion application concludes the ritual.
Best Thing About It: The staff offers unparalleled personal attention. The spa attaché caters to your every need, from preparing customized masques for use in the steam room, to making dinner and show reservations. The therapists are skilled and knowledgeable, and make every effort to provide the ultimate journey to relaxation.
What Could Be Improved: There is no Wet Area within the spa.

THE SPA AT THE MIRAGE, Mirage Hotel
Like the birch tree that often symbolizes purification and new beginnings, The Spa at The Mirage celebrated much of the same with its re-opening in late 2007. The Spa at The Mirage’s re-designed look is sleek and modern, yet comfortable and intimate. Spa and Salon Director Chuck Oliverio says that the spa underwent a complete transformation that included temperature, lighting and music controls in each treatment room to give guests “the utmost personal service.”
The colour scheme is black and white, accented with neutrals and silver, custom art pieces grace the walls and a coed relaxation area is situated among a canopy of birches. The vanity area offers guests Kerstin Florian products for face and body and Kim V for the hair. With the re-opening the Spa at Mirage also expanded and now has 17 treatment rooms, and an upscale boutique with spa and salon products, specialty apparel and unusual accessories and gifts.
Signature Treatments: The Birch Detoxifying Wrap is an invigorating seaweed wrap that blends essential vitamins and therapeutic minerals found in blue-green algae. Birch oil, popularly used in the ancient Northern European Sami culture, boosts the body’s immunity and is said to be a choice remedy for anyone who wants to detox after a night out in Las Vegas.
Best thing about it: A fresh and clean environment through and through gives a feeling of purity and relaxation.
What could be improved: Not anything in particular that I could see. .

Five other spas I like:
SPA AT RED ROCK, Red Rock Casino Resort Spa
Luxe meets nature at this off-the-strip Spa, located inside the ultra cool Red Rock Casino and Spa. Located at the Western edge of Las Vegas, minutes away from Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the Spa offers opportunities to be well and to be “one with nature.” Outdoor adventures like rock climbing, hiking and biking are also offered on their menu of spa packages. One of the best features of this Spa is the private outdoor lap pool for spa guests only. Cabanas and lofty chaise lounges provide a great place for couples to meet for lunch by the pool.
SPA BELLAGIO, Bellagio Resort
The sprawling and luxurious Spa Bellagio is the best place to go to experience world therapies based on ancient healing. In addition to conventional modalities, the Spa also offers Raindrop Therapy, Table Thai, Watsu (the only spa on the strip to offer this), Ashiatsu, and Indian Head Massage.
BATHHOUSE, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay
Submerging in a tub may be one of the highlights at BATHHOUSE, but the “scents of you” treatments are customized with individualized aromapothecary oils to match your needs, and it all starts with a fun questionnaire upon check-in.
QUA SPA AND BATHS, Caesars Palace
Inspired by the ancient Roman bathhouses, Qua Baths & Spa offers the traditional three pools - caldarium, frigidarium and tepidarium and a tea program, designed by their in-house tea sommelier.
SPA AND SALON AT GOLDEN NUGGET, Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino
The only luxury spa in the downtown portion of Las Vegas was part of a $100+ million resort re-do. A large and charming co-ed sky-lit Southern parlor provides a warm and comforting place for guests to relax before, during and after one of the many treatments available at this spa.
