To borrow a few lyrics from John Denver’s famous song, Rocky Mountain High – ‘he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams, seeking grace in every step he takes. His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake.’
The words float through my mind as I set out on this mini road trip – a wellness travel tour through the southwestern corner of the Centennial State, so named, I recently learned, because Colorado joined the Union 100 years after the Declaration of Independence.
My first stop was Glenwood Hot Springs. Located in the foothills of the Elk Range in the Southern Rockies of Colorado, the destination is on our “wellness travel map” thanks to its historic Hot Springs.
