Let’s break it down.  First of all…..

What is a Wellness Vacation/Wellness Holiday?

The Wellness Tourism Association defines a Wellness Vacation / Holiday as Wellness Travel powered by a wellness-focused intention. Wellness Vacations/Holidays are typically self-directed with the traveler setting his or her own timetable and schedule.

What is a Staycation?

According to Oxford Dictionary: A vacation spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.

Put then both together and you get…

A Wellness Staycation!

And, here is the Travel to Wellness definition: A Wellness Staycation is a wellness-focused vacation spent either AT home or closer to home. For instance, in one’s own state, province, country or region of the world. The destination can be accessible by car or a short direct flight. Planned with an emphasis on maintaining, promoting or kick-starting a healthy lifestyle, a Wellness Staycation also supports local or regional-based companies, sole proprietors and local producers.
